The year before, while still studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, she appeared in “Stage Fright,” and, as a teenager, helped write dialogue for “Shadow of a Doubt.” She would also appear in “Psycho” to deliver one of that film’s funniest lines: when a wealthy account-holder stops by the bank where she works with Janet Leigh, Pat Hitchcock says to her, “He was flirting with you! I guess he noticed my wedding ring.” Patricia Hitchcock, the director’s own daughter, played Ruth Roman’s protocol-defying younger sister, in 1951’s “Strangers on a Train,” unafraid to speak her mind while her future brother-in-law deals with a murder plot he’s been thrust into. A non-actress before, Hitchcock discovered her while scouting locations for the film. Lloyd acted opposite Amy Schumer in 2015’s “Trainwreck.”Įdna May Wonacott, now 87, like costar Teresa Wright, called Joseph Cotten “Uncle Charlie” in Hitchcock’s 1943 classic “Shadow of a Doubt.” As a precocious preteen she was the first to suspect something was amiss with her visiting relative in their Santa Rosa home.

He later had a major association with Hitchcock as a producer of both of his anthology television series, as well as a director of 17 episodes. Lloyd is two years older than fellow acting centenarians Olivia de Havilland and Kirk Douglas. Norman Lloyd, still active at 104, played the villain pursued by the wrongly accused factory worker (Bob Cummings) accused of sabotage in 1942’s “Saboteur.” Lloyd is seen in one of the master’s most famous sequences, the climax on the Statue of Liberty, dangling from the torch pleading to be saved.
